Who we are

This is a website where I post articles written by me. There is a small cost for running the site which is why I place some ads on it. I try not to make them too intrusive on the content. Sharing the content is most important. The ads are to cover the cost.

I have not written any code that captures any of your data and I wouldn’t ever consider selling it even if I did.

Our website address is: https://www.thebestcsharpprogrammerintheworld.com.

What personal data we collect and why we collect it

Google Analytics is implemented in the site to monitor location and frequency of usage. When you leave a comment, WordPress stores your IP address, I think, and if you provide any personal information it gets stored. I have to approve the release of comments made on articles, at the moment I do not plan on approving any of them. But feel free to comment, I will read them if any slip through.

Cookies

If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

Analytics

Like I wrote at the beginning, I have enabled Google Analytics and Google AdSense. Those likely capture some information and set cookies. Consider reading up on them if you have concerns.

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

I have turned off this capability because I get too much spam.

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

I do not collect any data so I don’t expect any requests.

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.
